Champagne Velvet and Swooner
at Ballston Local
Get ready for a rocking double bill at your favorite neighborhood joint: Ballston Local (with brand new ownership, and tables!). Champagne Velvet starts the night at 8pm with rock and alternative covers from the 80/90/00s (Full disclosure…I do their sound, play keys on some songs, and shake a mean tambourine).
They are followed by Swooner, another Arlington band with grunge rock original songs. Check out their recent original hit, Blood in the River. There are not many local-area bands with such solid songwriting, talent, and this potential to go big. Catch them before their kids go to college and they start touring nationally.
Moon Landing Duo at Mussel Bar
The Silent Critics at Solace Brewery
Pro tip: If you want to start the night earlier (why wouldn’t you?), grab dinner three doors down from Ballston Local at Mussel Barm, and check out Moon Landing Duo (7pm). I hesitate to say this because they are awesome so you might end up staying for their whole show and miss CV and Swooner, but I am here to help artists and their fans, not promote my band. And for you Falls Churchers who want to stay closer to home: check out The Silent Critics at Solace (where I would probably be if I didn’t have a show).
