Friday (7/17)

Big weekend with lots of choices!

Champagne Velvet (Fri@TheFS) has a new female lead (Julia) with incredible charisma and rockstar energy, and added a permanent bassist (Travis, letting Dru and Gregg focus on guitars). Check out their new vibe in this video clip.

Speaking of female rock leads, Man of the Hour (Fri@BL) and Pocket Place (Sat@149) are two high-energy young up-and-coming bands, and Amorous Theft (Sat@BL) seems more established and experienced (catch some World Cup at Ballston Local, then stay for live music). For a more soulful lead, check out Breonna Sharde (Sat@Dogwood) and her band.

Lubber Run is featuring some fun and global sounds with Zydeco (Fri), Cuban salsa (Sat), and family-friendly Latin (Sun).

And finally, Fridays at the Fountain (Water Park at National Landing) is starting back up, with The Montaines, a rapidly-rising Indie and pop rock band out of DC, kicking off the season.

Keep rocking in July before things slow down a bit around here in August. See you in the crowd.
